Meet Jeff Kirshen
Toronto Tax Lawyer
Jeff Kirshen is a dedicated tax lawyer with over a decade of experience representing individuals and businesses in complex tax matters. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014 and holds two Juris Doctor (JD) degrees, one from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and the other from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Jeff specializes in tax dispute resolution, tax litigation, and strategic tax planning. He has successfully represented clients at all levels of dispute with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), from audits and objections to appeals before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, and various provincial courts. His experience includes high-stakes tax controversies, voluntary disclosures, residency determinations, and cross-border tax issues.
Beyond tax disputes, Jeff provides practical tax planning advice on domestic and international matters, helping clients structure their affairs in a practical and tax-efficient manner. His approach balances legal precision with practical, cost-effective solutions.
Background and Experience
Before launching his own practice, Jeff was a partner at two law firms, where he focused on complex CRA disputes. He has worked in both boutique and national tax law firms, gaining a broad perspective on tax law and its application across different industries.
Beyond Tax Law
When he’s not advocating for taxpayers, Jeff enjoys skiing, golfing, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and their dog, Ladybird.
